Clarice Beckett exhibition
We decided to take a quick trip to the Adelaide Art Gallery to see the Clarice Beckett exhibition, "The present moment", being one of my favourite painters it couldnt be missed. Beautifully curated, the exhibition organised Clarice's paintings by time of day and in the darkness and stillness of the gallery the paintings were so vibrant. I had always thought her paintings were small, however I learnt she did her studies in plien air and completed her bigger works in her studio (parent's kitchen!). I also became more aware of some of the stunning colours in her pallette, in particular a luminous green - veridian? than was in many of her paintings.
Stunning exhibition and very inspiring.
